Dokuzuncu Sanat Cermodern’de

Cermodern, dokuzuncu sanat çizgi romanın en önemli isimlerinden Enki Bilal ve Jean “Moebius” Giraud’nun ölümsüz eserlerini konuk ediyor.

Murat Cem Şerbetci’nin sıradışı koleksiyonundan seçilmiş litografi, serigrafi, heykel, obje, katalog ve anı ürünlerden oluşan sergi, çizgi romanın kültür kökeni ve yapıtaşına bir koleksiyon üzerinden eşsiz bir serüven sunacak.

Enki Bilal, şüphesiz yaşayan en karizmatik çizgi romancıların başında gelmektedir. Çocuk yaşlardan itibaren ilgi duyduğu sinema, çizgi roman macerasının başlangıcı olmuş, Asterix’in babası Rene Goscinny’nin teşvikiyle efsanevi Pilote dergisinde çizerliğe başlamıştır. Sanatçının “Nikopol” üçlemesi, çizgi roman tarihinin dönüm noktası olmuştur. Görsel dil, anlatım, dramaturji ve kurgu anlayışı açısından üst düzey bir hikaye anlatımıyla Mısır’dan Mezopotamya’ya, Roma’dan Belgrad’a taşıdığı serüvenleriyle post modern çağın vakanüvisi olmuştur.

Jean “Moebius” Giraud,  Fransız-Belçika çizgi roman ekolünün en önemli temsilcisi olarak gerçeküstücü ve bilimkurgucu tarzıyla bir ekol oluşturmuş, kendisinden sonra gelen sanatçılara ilham kaynağı olmuş bir sanatçıdır. Eserleriyle çizgi roman sektörüne ve Hollywood filmlerine yön vermiştir. Moebius’un çizimleri ve filmleri Blade Runner filminin dahi yönetmeni Ridlet Scott ve Fifth Element filminin yönetmeni Luc Besson’u çok etkilemiştir. Özellikle kostüm tasarımları Alien filminde kullanılmıştır. Silver Surfer’ın gümüş kayağını tasarlamış, bir çok Marvel ve Dark Horse çizgi romanı için poster çalışması yapmıştır. He Man and The Masters of The Universe çizgi romanlarındaki birçok unsuru tasarlamıştır. 1979 yılında Ridley Scott’un Alien filminde HR Giger ile beraber Shepperton Studio’daki setlerde bulunmuş, ve filmdeki Nostromo gemisini tasarlamış ve Scott’un  storyboard’ları Moebius stilindedir.

Ankaralı koleksiyoner Murat Cem Şerbetci, 1970’li yıllardan bu yana bir yaşam tarzı haline getirdiği çizgi roman serüvenini sadece eser toplayıcılığıyla sınırlı kalmadan kültürel bir fenomen olarak içselleştirmiş, her iki sanatçıyla da yakın dostluk kurmuş, sanat hayatlarına tanıklık etmiştir.

Sergi, 8 Şubat ve 19 Nisan tarihleri arasında Cermodern ana galerilerinde görülebilecektir.

Ninth Art Is At CerModern

CerModern welcomes the everlasting works of  Enki Bilal and Jean “Moebius” Giraud,  among the most significant artistsof the Ninth art comics.

Selected from Murat Cem Şerbetci's extraordinary collection, the exhibition consisting of lithography, screen printing, sculpture, objects, catalogs and memorial products will present a unique adventure to the cultural origin and the constituent of the comics.

Enki Bilal is, for sure, above all the comics artists alive. The cinema in which he was interested since his childhood was the beginning of his comics adventure, and started to draw in the legendary "Pilote" magazine with the encouragement of Asterix's father, Rene Goscinny. The artist's “Nikopol” trilogy was the turning point in comic book history. With his great talent of storytelling in terms of visual language, narration, dramaturgy and fiction, he became  a historiographer of post-modern era with his adventures from Egypt to Mesopotamia, from Rome to Belgrade.

Jean  “Moebius ”Giraud, the most important representative of the Franco-Belgian comics ecole, created a school with a surrealist and sci-fi style and inspired artists who followed him. He directed the comics  industry and Hollywood films with his unique art works. Moebius' drawings and movies impressed Ridlet Scott, the director of Blade Runner, and Luc Besson, the director of the movie, Fifth Element.The costume designs, especially, were used in the movie Alien. He designed the silver skis of Silver Surfer and made posters for many Marvel and Dark Horse comics. He designed many figures in He Man and The Masters of The Universe comics. In 1979, He was on the sets of the Shepperton Studio with HR Giger in  Ridley Scott's Alien movie, and designed the Nostromo ship in the movie. Scott's storyboards are in Moebius' style.

The collector, Murat Cem Şerbetci from Ankara internalizes his comic book adventure, that has been his  lifestyle since 1970. He was not only limited to his work as a collector, but also was a close friend of both artists and witnessed their artistic lifestyles.

The exhibition may be visited between February 8- April 19 2020 at CerModern in the main galleries.
