Bugün, sanatçının eserlerini paylaşım kanalı olarak sıklıkla kullandığı kitle iletişim araçları, onu bir algoritmanın istatistiği haline getirmiştir. Bununla beraber, karşı durduğu ve eleştirdiği birçok konunun da bilinçli veya bilinçsiz olarak uygulayıcısı olmuştur. Yeni medya olanakları ile reklam imkânını artırmış ve beğeninin çekiciliğine kapılmıştır. Popülerlik kazanmak ve kendini “göz hizasında” tutmak için sisteme uygun şekilde, sözde güncel olabilme çabasına girmiştir. Tek tipleşmenin, sansürün ve baskının dayatıldığı bir ortamda

sanatçı kendini bu çelişkiden ve manipülasyondan nasıl kurtarabilir? Her türlü sansürleme ve baskılamanın, münferit bir olaymış gibi gösterilmesi ve tek tipleştirme çabası kabul edilemez bir durumdur.

Her şeyin ulaşılabilir olduğu fikrini aşılayan medya, tüketmek üzere kurgulanmış toplumu sahip olduklarını göstermek için yeni bir forma daha sokmuştur. Aldığımız kararların farkında olmadığımız şeylerden etkilendiğini bilsek de, manipülasyonun gerçek etkilerini tam olarak öngöremeyiz. Manipüle edildiğinin bile farkında olamayan özne kendi hakkında fazlasıyla bilgiyi paylaşarak kontrolünü kolaylaştırmıştır. Bu durum, özgürce ve özgünce düşünme

becerisini farkında olmadan elinden alınmıştır.

Yeni medyum, yaşamın tüm alanlarına sızar ve neyi, ne zaman, nasıl yapacağımızı bize söyler. Tıpkı bir sihirbaz gibi, onun istediği şeylere odaklanmamızı sağlar ve bu şekilde biçimlenmiş tek boyutlu insanları yaratır.

Basın, sosyal medya, reklam, diziler, filmler gibi pek çok araçla normalleştirilen bu güdüleme ile esasen tam olarak bir iletişimsizlik ve toplumsal körleşme yaratılır. Özgürce iletişim kuran, paylaşan özneler görüntüsü Van Gogh’un “Tutuklular Çemberi” tablosundaki gibi sanatçıyı da içine alan sınırlandırılmış bir döngüye girer.

Today, the mass media, which the artists frequently uses as a channel for sharing their works, has made the artits themselves the statistic of an algorithm. However, the artist has been consciously or unconsciously practitioner of many issues s/he opposes and criticizes. The artists are attracted by the opportunities of new media, the chance for advertisement and the charm of beauty. To gain popularity and to keep themselves at the eye level, they have pretended to be an updated “contemporary” while obeying the rules created by the society. How can an artist save herself/himself from the standardization and contradiction? It cannot be accepted to expose that every single censoring and suppresion is discrete and standardized.

Media, trying to engrave that everything can be achievable in individual’s subconscious, shaped the society, created for consuming, to show what they really have. We cannot anticipate what are the exact reflections of manipulation even if we exactly know that we and our decisions are under the influence of the other things that we cannot be aware of. The subjects who are unconscious of being manipulated, sharing too much information of

themselves with the others simplizes their control over their feelings. This ability to be sure of anything, to think independently and uniquely is taken from them unwittingly.

New medium has infiltrated all fields of life and imposed every one of us what, when and how to do things. Like a magician, it forces us to concentrate on what it likes. By imposing certain similar emotions, desires and opinions, the medium has created new undimensional human beings.

The motivation which is created intentionally and normalized by many tools such as press, social media, advertising, TV series and movies, essentially creates a lack of communication and social blindness. Individuals communicating freely, encircling in a certain restricted round as in Van Gogh's paintings called 'Prisoner’s Round' while capturing the artists.
